Spiritual Spa events put Christian spin on self-care

At the Spiritual Spa, the makeovers were internal.

"I think the idea was that we women go to spas and have all these wonderful treatments for our outsides," said Lindsay West, 24, a participant and volunteer. "As Christians, this is a chance to do that for your soul."

Some 225 women gathered in a North Side meeting room recently to do just that at the second annual Spiritual Spa sponsored by the Women's Ministry of Park Community Church, a non-denominational Christian church in Lincoln
